The chair of Material- and Process Simulation at the University of Bayreuth is inviting applicants for a PhD position available within the project “Multi-scale modelling for further understanding of the faceting and the orientation-dependent growth of Aluminium nitride bulk crystals in the gas phase” (AIN-Multi-scale modelling) funded by the German Research Foundation (Deutsche Forschungs-gemeinschaft) for a period of three years.

The chair of Material- and Process Simulations at the University of Bayreuth is inviting applicants for a PhD position available within the project “Heterogeneous nucleation and microstructure formation in eritectic alloy systems” funded by the German Research Foundation (Deutsche Forschungs-gemeinschaft) for a period of one year – with the prospect of prolongation for further two years.

A PhD scholarship is available at DTU Mechanical Engineering, Section for Solid Mechanics, in the field of fatigue and wear in rolling and sliding contacts, with focus on computational stress and damage modelling. The department has well-established research activities in this field. The present scholarship is partly funded by the Danish Centre for Knowledge based Engineering for Improved Reliability of Critical Wind turbine Components (REWIND)  supported by the Danish Agency for Science, Technology and Innovation.



Project description

Two PhD scholarships are available at DTU Mechanical Engineering, Section for Solid Mechanics, in the field of fatigue and wear in rolling and sliding contacts. One has focus on computational stress and damage modeling, while the other has focus on elastohydrodynamic lubricant film modelling and experimental verification.

The Department of Mechanics and Engineering Science, Ningbo University, China, has multiple openings in Solid Mechanics and Fluid Mechanics for experienced and junior applicants.

The Department has been supported by Zhejiang Province under Center for Excellence program for broad subjects related to Engineering Mechanics research and education.  We also have special funds for the enhancement of the Fluid Mechanics program.
