We have Ph.D. positions in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) with a primary focus on the mechanobiology of cells and tissues. We are looking for candidates with a background in solid and fluid mechanics to work in a collaborative environment. We have 1-2 PhD positions funded by NSF in 2022 Fall at SUNY Binghamton, New York. 

The research will be on: (1) Multiphysics modeling & simulation for soft composites in flexible electronics, and/or (2) Design/fabrication of novel architected composites.  Students with a solid mechanics or relevant background are desired.  You will perform multiphysics finite element simulation (ABAQUS), nonlinear constitutive modeling, and soft composites fabrication/testing (CT imaging, etc.).
