Hi all,

I'm looking for a Postdoc ASAP (potential start date Jan 2024) to lead a project on lithium metal batteries, involving the use of ultrasonic scanning to study electrolyte wetting (i.e. contact mechanics in porous electrodes) and cell formation. It's a pretty flexible position and focused on the process development aspect, you'll have close exposure to some large battery manufacturing companies. Lastly, you'll have the opportunity to work with and mentor 2 excellent PhD students and several mechanical engineering undergraduate students.

Faculty position in Civil and Environmental Engineering at Cornell University

Submitted by arsonc on

The School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Cornell University (Ithaca campus) invites applications for a faculty position (all ranks considered) in the broad areas of natural and engineered systems and their robustness, resiliency and sustainability in the face of climate change and extreme events.  Computational, theoretical, or experimental research programs are encouraged. In general, we prioritize the overall originality and promise of the applicant's work, rather than the sub-area of specialization.

RA in Mechanics of Batteries (Fixed Term) - Cambridge

Submitted by Hilde F on

Lithium ion batteries with solid state electrolytes are prone to degradation by a range of mechanisms including dendrite formation, void formation and swell-induced fatigue and micro-cracking. The topology of the battery plays a role over a number of length scales, from macro scale geometry of battery to the microstructural scale of the mixing of the negative electrode in the electrolyte. Topology has a major effect both on performance and on the failure mechanisms.

PhD position in University of New South Wales

Submitted by Liya Zhao on

Dr Liya Zhao from the School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at the University of New South Wales is seeking PhD students to work on projects related to the following topics. Full scholarship will be provided (Tuition waiver + stipend).
