Sorry i am posting my blog post here.

I am a mechanical engineer and have been in industry for past 12 years.Was trying to find out a good instituition to purue an Online MS degree in Mechanical Design/or any other core mechanical stream like applied mechanics.Can anyone help me with this please.

Print/ view the stiffness matrix in nastran

I have a model of a pressure vessel for which I need to see the stiffness matrix for selected elements. Is there any way of seeing the stiffness matrix only for selected elements in .f06 format of in . pch format in nastran

 Please help

Required - Verification test for Incompressible hyperelastic models

I am working with a finite element code implemented in C++ in my research group. Recentl I implemneted an incompressible finite strain element.

 Currently I am making use of verification tests to check whether my element runs accurately for various hyperelastic strain-energy models. I have succesfully completed a verification test using the Mooney-rivlin strain-energy density function. However, I have been unable to find verification/benchmark tests which I may use to test other strain-energy density functions.

Hello everyone,

 Basically I am using ABAQUS/Explicit to perform quasi-static analyses on steel members reinforced with cfrp strips. I have obtained the cohesive zone model parameters and I am trying to apply them to my model. I am assuming that failure will occur in the adhesive, as observed experimentally.

 

how to apply traction vectors on each node of the model?

Dear All,



I was wondering if someone experienced could reply me. I've already
analyzed a model and extracted the nodal stress tensors. Now the aim is
identifying the external model nodes and its corresponding stress
tensors and then re-apply them as a new Boundary Condition. Firstly, it
seems that I need to multiply these stress tensors (which vary node by
node) by a normal vector resulting traction vectors. But, here is the
question, how should I define these traction vectors on external nodes

DEAR ALL,

    I am a new user in ABAQUS. I want to do an analysis on a cantilever beam, where force applied to the beam deforms it, and depending on its deformation the direction of the force changes.

Hi all,

       I am new to ANSYS. My problem is how to connect (transistion) different elements like solid-shell or solid-beam elements, because the different elements have different degrees of freedom and at the interface the mismatch of degrees of freedom occurs. Its basically, what are transition elements present in ANSYS and how to use them

Abaqus related question

Hi,

I am new in abaqus (literally just started). I am trying to model nanoindentation experiment for viscoelastic material (have to use UMAT). I should probably start going through the examples on the interactive manual, which I am doing at this moment. Problem is I need to show some progress soon (at least a 2d model working for viscoelastic nanoindentation experiment). I would like to know if someone can suggest me a way to go. 

Abaqus Modeling polymer/nanoclay (short fiber) composite model for crack propagation using XFEM

Hi all,

I am working on modeling crack propagation in 2D polymer/nanoclay composite material using XFEM.

The polymer matrix would be rectangular shape and nanoclays be 2D wire.

Thus, the composite model looks like 2D rectangular and short fibers embeded in it.

The nanoclays (fibers) can be delaminated during the simulation, therefore I want to apply cohesive zone model at the interface between polymer and nanoclays.
