Hello,
I wonder if exists an analytical expression for the location of the shear center of L shaped cross section of beam with isotropic materials?

Stan
Recently i work on finite element model of a human vertebral body, and focus on intervertebral disc.
Based on its structure which consist of collagen fibers i have to use anisotropic hyperelastic model with reinforced fiber, and i derived the coefficients of strain energy function.
but i have some troubles to modeling this material in ansys v.10 or v.12, because i have to use user material subroutine and i have not enough information about how to define material with macro in ansys
In January 2011, the UK government announced its intention to stop
compulsory retirement for people aged 65, despite criticism of the move
by employers’ groups. Campaigners against age discrimination and unions
welcomed the change. However, official guidance makes it clear that
employers will be able to dimiss staff no longer capable of carrying out
their work. Official figures show more than two thirds of British
employers have already eliminated fixed retirement ages.
Dear all,
I have just started using PFC 2D. I want to generate stress/strain curve for a compaction test (oedometer test). I have designed the walls and the balls as particles. I have problem assigning the velocity of upper y-wall that will be used for compression and obtaining the stress/strain relationship as a graph.
Please help.
Thanks

Hi guys,
I deal with modal analysis of 3D 'both clmaped' composite tube in ANSYS. I use solid elements and orthotropic model of material. Constants of this material are homogenized values of composite tube. So I meshed the tube and set the element coord system ESYS as cylindrical. The problem is with results, becasue after solving I get very low eigenfrequncies, i.e. first 100 eigenfrequencies are from 0 to 10 Hz with step 1 Hz and it seems a bit weird.
Do you have any tips where the problem could be?
Thanks,

Post-doctoral position is available in the area of ultrasonic material characterization and nondestructive evaluation (strong background and experience in ultrasonic
experiment and modeling are required). The position is supported
from research grants. The focus area is ultrasonic study of
nonhomogenous materials like polycrystalline materials, composites and
adhesive bonds. State of the art ultrasonic laboratories
and other characterization facilities are available. More details will
be provided to interested individuals.
A tenure track Junior Professor position is
available in ther Institute of Mechanics at the Otto-von-Guericke-University
Magdeburg, Germany.

Hello,
Does anybody know how change part material during caluculations (between steps) in ABAQUS.
I need to modifie Young modulus of one part in my calculations after first phase of loading.
Thank You in advance
