PhD openings in solid/structural mechanics at Stony Brook University

Submitted by Paolo Celli on

I would like to advertise several openings for Ph.D. students in my recently-established research group, the Dynamic Structures Laboratory at Stony Brook University. The intended starting semester is Fall 2020.

A good applicant has a background in engineering, physics or math, and is passionate about mechanics and its application to structural systems at various lengthscales. An ideal applicant has also coding experience, likes "DIY" and/or arts&crafts, and is open to writing in LaTeX.

PhD position in Multi-Material 3D printing

Submitted by tehrani on

Looking for a motivated PhD student (Fall 2018 or Spring 2019) to work on Multi-Material 3D Printing: carbon fiber composite, nanocomposite, and conductive ink. The dissertation investigates both materials and mechanics aspects of 3D printed materials. If interested send your CV to mtehrani [at] unm.edu

Ph.D. students opening in the Department of Aerospace Engineering at the Iowa State University

Submitted by Shuozhi Xu on

A research group at Iowa State University (https://www.aere.iastate.edu/lmxiong/) is looking for research assistants in the field of solid mechanics, computational mechanics, computational materials science and engineering. Research topics will fall into a broad area of modeling and simulation of mechanical and transport behaviors, such as plasticity, fracture, phase transformation, thermal transport, or mass transport, in a variety of engineering materials.

Multiple PhD positions in microstructure-mechanics relationships for structural materials at high temperatures

Submitted by Mark Tschopp on

Multiple PhD positions are available for the fall 2012/winter 2013 semesters in microstructure-mechanics relationships for structural materials at high temperatures in the Center for Advanced Vehicular Systems (http://www.cavs.msstate.edu) at Mississippi State University.  The project is funded through Air Force Office for Scientific Research (AFOSR) and will involve multiscale materials characterization, in situ SEM experiments, and high temperature mechanical testing for turbine blade structural materials (nickel-based superalloys).

Im looking for a PhD Position in the area of molecular simulations

Submitted by Mario Cyril Pinto on

My name is Mario Pinto. I have a bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering (2006) and a masters degree in Computational Science (2008).
