When Working on Ansys Non Linear Static Structural Analysis, I couldn't comprehen while defining and assigning material properties to corrosponding bodies.

When I give different random values for density in Engineering Data and runing the jobs parallely the results look SIMILAR for all the independent values, I couldn't fish out on what basis do the software is giving out results.

Which IDE are you using for ABAQUS coding

IDE is the environment where we code, we have VS2008 for c++/c ... coding, and we also have "Qt creator" for qt related c++ coding. Do you have any idea on a friendly IDE for ABAQUS coding?

Lagrange Multipliers in Multi-body Finite Element Code

I'm working on a Multibody dynamics code using the finite element method to simulate the behaviour of flexible beams (using this paper if anyone is interested/ it is relevant). I'd like to model joints, and as I only need spherical friction free joints I believe this should be easy using Lagrange multipliers.

When I run the code, the two bodies part company immediately. Any ideas where I'm going wrong? I'm just simulating a double pendulum with 10 elements in each body for now.

XFEM ABAQUS Help

I am trying to run an XFEM analysis which consists of assembly of more than 20 instances. I am getting the error, ABAQUS CANNOT ALLOW MORE THAN 20  ENRICHMENT REGIONS IN ONE MODEL. Is there anything I could do? I need to define XFEM cracks (Special>Cracks>Crack Manager> Create > XFEM Crack )for all the 30 parts assembly.

Please assist.

Dear friends,

Could anyone be kind to share some comments on my interesting results? It is my first time to post a topic, hope to communicate more with the members here.

Salam everyone,

I am working on Modeling of a Brick Wall Panel under reverse cyclic load with a concrete lintel at the top.

i need help regarding displacement controlled test in abaqus. there are a total of 24 cycles . . . first four cycles are force controlled (whose frequency is 1/60Hz) and the rest 20 are displacement control (whose frequency is 1/120Hz) . . . the following is the data file . . .

Modeling a curved graphene sheet

HI,

I'm trying to simlate the buckling behavior of a grpahene sheet using ANSYS APDL 14.5

In my analysis I need to have a graphene sheet that is curved with a variable radius for different cases. I was wondering if there is a faster way to model the graphene sheet assuming that the carbon-carbon bonds are modelled as elastic beam elements( beam 188) and the nodes are represnted by the carbon atoms.

buckling analysis of pipeline under external pressure

The buckling pressure of a uniform pipe under external pressure, can be evaluted by the linear analtical equation:

I use abaqus to simulate this problem. I tried for different pipe length and boundray conditions, the buckling pressure varies a lot, and even larger than the linear analytical results. Does anyone know how long do I need to build for the model and how to set up the boundray conditions. Many thanks.

FSI issue in abaqus co-simulation: misaligned nodes

Hi everyone,

I am performing FSI simulation under abaqus.

The simulation consists in a porous solid (elastic isotrope and homogeneous under Abaqus/explicit) filled by a non newtonian (viscous fluid under Abaqus/CFD). The whole is contained in a cubic shell in order to apply proper boundary condition.
