PhD Position in Multiscale Modeling of metamaterials

Submitted by Kmomeni on

A PhD position is open for Spring 2018 in Advanced Hierarchical Materials by Design Lab at Louisiana Tech University on multiscale modeling of metamaterials. The candidates must have earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fields (applicants with a MSc will be given priority) and have a solid background in theoretical and computational mechanics. Having knowledge of continuum mechanics, finite element modeling, and a programming language is a plus.

Simpleware Case Study: Simulating Pore-Scale Chemical Transport

Submitted by Simpleware on

Image-based modelling can be used to analyse mass transfer phenomena through porous media, with particular applications to reservoir rock pore-throats networks. The aim of these analyses is to improve our understanding and characterisation of the way fluids move through variable pore-scales.

Using real geometries from micro-CT, this project involved generating a 3D model in Simpleware software for visualisation and processing prior to meshing and export to COMSOL Multiphysics® for studying chemical transport mechanisms.

Hands-On Microfluidics Simulation Workshop.

Submitted by Parameshwaran … on

The NNIN/C at the University of Michigan will be hosting a free Workshop
entitled ” Comsol Hands-on Workshop on Microfluidic Devices “.

In this Workshop, we will focus on COMSOL’s Microfluidics Module
which encompasses easy-to-use tools for the study of microfluidic
devices. Important applications include simulations of lab-on-a-chip
devices, digital microfluidics, electrokinetic and magnetokinetic
devices, inkjets, and micro-pumps.

ANSYS

Submitted by BALTAR on

Hello

I am using ANSYS for structural ANALYSIS, I want to add PML or absorbing boundary condition in my simulation:

I have a look at help of ansys, there is absorbing boundary for Electermagnetic domain , Structural fluid ,...

I am not able to find the absorbing boundary condition only for structural domain .

Please can sb help me to know that I can add absorbing boundary condition for structural domain in ANSYS?

the second question:when I want to add complex value as an input how it will be possible in ANSYS,
