Hi everybody,
how can I define soil parameters such as cohesion and plasticity stress and strain of soil in "ansys workbench"?
I knew there is "drucker prager" model option in "ansys classic" to define these parameters but I couldn't find any option in "ansys workbench.
How do we use Abaqus to simulate the orthogonal metal cutting process and check for values of various parameters during the cutting operations ? I would be extremely thankful to anybody who could assist me on this . Tahnking You in Advance ,

i?m simulating a manufacturing chain finite elements analysis. Every step of this chain have been developed by different software. I use ANSYS. Somoone know how to impose the initial strain and stress state deriving from previous simulations to my ansys model: I'm able to use INISTATE command but only stresses are imported, I loose initial strain info: are they important if my material is elasto plastic? how i can resolve the problem?

For 31 mode piezoelectric plate. I have measured it's electric impedance spectrum (curve of Log IZI~ Frequency). I found that, when I used this plate for a piezoelectric sensor to receive mechanic signals. the maximum output occured at antiresonance frequency; For example, for piezoelectric hydrophone or receiving-type piezoelectric transducers, It works at antiresonance frequency (at the maximum electric impedance).

In classical elasticity, we know that at the interface of two different materials, traction stresses and non-traction strains are cotinuous. Traction stresss are continuous according to Newton's third law, but why non-traction strains are continuous?

I want to simulate a thin circular film in xy plane. The force is in z direction. I wanna get the deflecton of the film using ANSYS.
The material is linear, but the deformation is geometrically nonlinear. Also, I consider only stretching behavior, which means that
the bending effect is totally neglected.
Which element I should choose?
