Hi all,

I exercised "Prob37: FSI analysis of a simplified turbine using a sliding mesh" ADINA tutorial. I got an error message and the program stopped solving.

The error message:

ERROR CODE ADF2075

"-R option cannot be used for adaptive-mesh or sliding mesh. You can use -m, -M options."

What are the -R,-m, -M options? How can i solve this problem?

Hypoelastic

Submitted by moslempayandeh on

Hi

I want to write the UMAT for hypo-elastic plastic material behavior.
I have to find L velocity gradient L.
The problem is I don't know how to calculate Fdot The derivative of deformation gradient. I have DFGRD1 and DFGRD0 and time increment.

Is it correct Fdot= (DFGRD1 - DFGRD0)/ delta(t)

I think it is not true but I don't have any idea about what is correct

hi i am ganesh

currently we are doing final year project about process modelling of turning operation in ansys lsdyna.we are facing difficulty in finding out the constants required for the johnson cook material model.chip formation and failure criteria is still a major problem.so i kindly request you to give suggestion and materials to solve this problem.

XFEM or Cohesive zone modelling how to choose "Damage Stabilization parameter"

Submitted by crazycolor on

I am working on crack propagation analysis of lamellar microstructures using XFEM. everything is working fine but i have an annoying observation that whenever i change the damage stabilization parameter let say from 1e-5 to 1e-6 then the force-displacement curves changes abruptly and the force which i am measuring on a reference node of my indenter varies two to three times. i tried to see if damage stabilization parameter effect the F-D curves and i observed that crack length and F-D curve changes.

Dear all,

I'm a researcher in the area of applied mechanics. Currently, I'm surveying articles on the constitutive and numerical modeling of fiber reinforced polymer composite. In particular, the fiber is a glass woven fabric. The matrix is the epoxy (thermoset which shrinkages when curing is completed). I want to know woks relevant to this kind of materials. I have found some "compressible hyperelastic model" which is for the epoxy only. Any comments or suggestions will be welcomed!

Problem solving Strain Gradient Viscoplasticity based on the framework of Fleck and Hutchinson

Submitted by Suman.Guha on

I am tyring to solve simple shear problem using a large deformation FE code based on the framework developed by Fleck and Hutchinson for gradient plasticity/viscoplasticity problem (see the attached paper). As the per the formulation, the independent variables are the displacement increments and eqv. plastic strain rate increments. Two sets of equations are solved, one for displacements and the other for plastic strain rates at nodes, following the the above formulation.

hi friends am doin my my project on" FEA of plasticity induced crack closure". my specimen size is 80*80 mm. by using symmetry condition i modelled 1/4th of model in ANSYS. therfore i created 40*40 mm plate. with initial crack length of 4mm.means its MT specimen of 80*80mm with 8 mm crack length, by symmetry condition i modelled 40*40 with 4mm crack lenth.
