I am using substructure in abaqus to model the joints in my model. In my model I used beam elements but using beam elements I can not model the details of joints and I want to consider the effect of different joint types in my model. So I defined my joints as a substructure using shell element and then request for stiffness matrix for those degrees of freedom that I need and used springs in my joints and applied components of stiffness matrix from substructure as spring stiffness. But it doesn’t give me correct result.Does anyone know if I can use directly stiffness component from substructure analysis as spring or I need to transform stiffness matrix from substructure (which is I think in local coordinate) to global coordinate?Thanks for your help
