CalculiX Launcher v3 (beta)

Submitted by calculix09 on

Hello Friends!

I would like to represent new collection of sorftware, based on open-source programs like GMSH and CalculiX

Here is the main link: http://calculixforwin.blogspot.com/2015/05/calculix-launcher.html

Linux version is extended with special Wizard, that gives you ability to apply boundary conditions very quickly.

Abaqus Documentation

Submitted by smhd.ms on

Hello,

I installed Abaqus CAE and documentation. I am using documentation from the link that is provided in the final step of the installation. However, once I want to open the Help from the CAE, I get the following error:

The Abaqus HTML documentation collection could not be located. This may indicate that the HTML documentation was not installed, or a problem with the Abaqus installation.

How Can I fix this problem??

Thanks

Quasi-periodicity and multi-scale resonators for the reduction of seismic vibrations in fluid-solid systems

Submitted by Giorgio Carta on

This paper presents a mathematical model for an industry-inspired problem of vibration isolation applied to elastic fluid-filled containers. A fundamental problem of suppression of vibrations within a finite-width frequency interval for a multi-scale fluid-solid system has been solved. We have developed a systematic approach employing full fluid-solid interaction and dispersion analysis, which can be applied to finite and periodic multi-scale systems.

How to consider shear deformation effect in thin-walled FRP I-section beams in ABAQUS, for beams having low Length-to-depth ratios, i.e., L/d=3 ?

Submitted by Himanshu Chawla on

I modeled the beam with solid element and shell elements, in both cases load-deflection response is same. When I modeled the beam the shell element, I have prevented the shear locking effect by using reduced integration technique, i.e., by taking S4R element. The deflection of beam obtained from ABAQUS is lesser than actual deflection of beam.
