Forced Vibration of Prismatic Beams

Attached is a computer program, written in Scilab and easily convertible to Matlab, that computes and dsiplays vibrations of prismatic beams forced by a sinusoidal point force. One can impose a variety of boundary conditions, including ones with end masses, springs and dampers. I show several examples. This might be a useful pedagogical item to play around with.

I have similar programs and write-ups for free vibrations of Euler Bernoulli beams and Timshenko beams with variable properties. If any would be interested I would willing to post them too.

Cohesive Zone Modeling with Ansys multiphysic

Dear All !

Does anyone know how to creat Cohesive Zone in Ansys Multiphysics ? i am studying that but i havent created successfully, pls guide me step by step

I also make one contact in Ansys but, how to make it as Cohesive Zone ? i read in help, it guided me to use command  "TB and TBDATA". But the problem is i dont know when and where to use these commads.  If you know pls ponit me !

Carbon Nanohorn Reinforced Nanocomposites...

I have formulated a shear-lag model for calculating the variation of stress along carbon nanohorns (CNHs), which are conical shaped wrapped carbon sheets, embedded in an epoxy matrix under axial loading.  I found that the stress distribution along the length of CNHs depends on the cone angle of these structures and maximum normal axial stress has a smaller value in CNHs compared to a carbon nanotube (CNT) with same cross-section as of the CNH's tip.  Furthermore, I read an article stating that synthesis of CNHs are easier compared to CNTs.  However, the only article I could f
