We, the AMD IiSS Technical Committee organizers, are pleased to continue our long-standing tradition of arranging a symposium on "Instabilities in Solids and Structures" at the annual ASME-International Mechanical Engineering Congress and Exposition (IMECE). The Congress this year will be held in New Orleans, LA during the period of October 29-November 2, 2023.
The "Presentation Only" abstract submission deadline this year is June 23, 2023.
Johns Hopkins University’s Hopkins Extreme Materials Institute (HEMI), in collaboration with the Materials Science in Extreme Environments (MSEE) University Research Alliance, will host a workshop and short course on impact research experiments on July 17-21, 2023. The emphasis of the event will be on impact research experiments performed using gas guns, powder guns, and electromagnetic launchers.
International Conference on Composites: Design, Processing, Manufacturing and Health Monitoring (CDPMHM 2024), will be organized at IIT Mandi (Himachal Pradesh, India) during 20-21 June 2024.
We encourage you to contribute an abstract to the minisymposium "Mechanics of Granular Media: Experiments, Theory, and Modeling" (Minisymposium 2-1) at the 2023 SES Annual Technical Meeting to be held in Minneapolis, MN, October 8-11, 2023. TL;DR: Back on MIT campus, in person, with technical lectures, group work, interactive labs and clinics, networking sessions, and participant talks! Materials design has endless applications in countless industries, and its impact is growing especially at the nexus of creating more sustainable, functional and efficient materials platforms. MIT Predictive Multiscale Materials Design short course will be held during the week of June 12-16, 2023, at MIT. Participants will earn an official MIT certificate.
