The Mechanical Engineering department at the University of Houston has an opening for a non-tenure track instructional faculty position.  The ideal candidate should be passionate about teaching will be expected to teach 3 undergraduate courses a semester and help with ABET. A competitive 9-month salary is expected and summer support is possible as well. Although the position is non-tenure track, our intention would be to hire someone for the long-haul.

At Oxford University we are seeking to appoint a post doctoral Research Assistant to work on the modelling of cavity nucleation and growth in the heat affected zone of a welded component operating in the creep regime. The post-doctoral position will be accomplished within the BATir (Building, Architecture & Town planning) department of the Brussels School of Engineering/´Ecole polytechnique de Bruxelles, at the Universit´e Libre de Bruxelles (http://batir.ulb.ac.be ). Duration of the position: 18 months, starting in April 2012.

A postdoctoral position is available in the Computational Mechanics and Materials
Group within the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Cornell

The project will involve the application of ab-initio atomistic modeling
techniques to illuminate the mechanisms by which impurities and environment
influence the mechanical failure of engineering materials.

Post-doctoral position is available in the area of ultrasonic material characterization and nondestructive evaluation (strong background and experience in ultrasonic experiment and modeling are required). The position is supported from research grants. The focus area is ultrasonic study of nonhomogenous materials like polycrystalline materials, composites and adhesive bonds. State of the art ultrasonic laboratories and other characterization facilities are available. More details will be provided to interested individuals.
