Opening for a Non-tenure-track Instructional Faculty

The Mechanical Engineering department at the University of Houston has an opening for a non-tenure track instructional faculty position.  The ideal candidate should be passionate about teaching will be expected to teach 3 undergraduate courses a semester and help with ABET. A competitive 9-month salary is expected and summer support is possible as well. Although the position is non-tenure track, our intention would be to hire someone for the long-haul.

Post-doctoral position is available in the area of ultrasonic material characterization and nondestructive evaluation (strong background and experience in ultrasonic experiment and modeling are required). The position is supported from research grants. The focus area is ultrasonic study of nonhomogenous materials like polycrystalline materials, composites and adhesive bonds. I am a professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. I am looking for a PhD student to work in the area of applied mathematics, specifically in solid mechanics (linear elasticity, complex variable methods, boundary integral equation methods) with a possible start date of Sept 2012 or jan 2013.
