ANSYS_How to make couplings as the picture?

Hello everyone,

I am a new user for ANSYS. I am trying to simulate the modal analysis of the section of pipe by ANSYS Mechanical APDL 14.5.

But I got the problem about ... How to make the couplings as the attached picture? 

I need to set the same condition of each pair of node on the right (nR) and the left (nL).

Z-mat files in ABAQUS

Hello,

I am trying to figure out how to incorporate Z-mat files in ABAQUS to simulate complex constitutuve models of polymers. While I have worked with UMAT subroutines before Z-mat is something new. Can somebody explain why Z-mat is necessary and are there any differences between conventional UMAT/VUMAT and Z-mat files?

Inverse distance weighting as a FEM shape function

Hello there!

I was thinking to use inverse distance  interpolation technique as a finite element shape function. However, I am not sure about its performance for finite element method, inverse distance interpolation was originally developed for geographic information system.

how to model fastners in ABAQUS

How to model Fastners in Abaqus? I have an assembly which are connected by more than 500 fastners and has angle and channel sections? 

IS there a method to do in ABAQUS?I have assembled my model in SOLIDWORKS by providing Concetric mating for all drills, but haven't included fasteners there as that will again increase the simulation time.

axial force in abaqus for 2d truss

hi guys. i am analyzing a 2d truss with abaqus and i need the nodes displacement and axial force along elements. now i have displacements but i tried very hard to find axial forces and no luck. it's the first time i use abaqus and i am learning it. i have searched alot in internet but i found no answers. and here it is my last hope. does anyone know how i can get axial forces for 2d truss in abaqus??  i will be very thankful.
