Dear all,

I want to achieve these procedures in abaqus, but I did not know how to do it, could you give me some suggestions?

In the first step, discretize the structure by the transport mesh and run transport analysis for the structure.

In the second step, using the results (stored in the user defined field), discretize the structure by the stress mesh(normal stress analysis), and run the stress analysis.

Enriched DOFs in XFEM‍

Submitted by zhangxiaodong on

Dear all,

Any one has idea on if the enriched DOFs should be
constrained in XFEM?  Numerous numerical examples from literature have
shown that the enriched DOFs needn't be constrained.

But what if
only one element is used in computation? I tried 1-D truss element  and
2-D quadrilateral element with heaviside enrichment function. For the
1-D truss element, the size of the element stiffness matrix is 4*4 and
the rank of the stiffness matrix is 3 which indicates only one DOF is

Dear iMechanicians,

I would like to invite you to the Workshop on Computational Fatigue Analysis 2013 and 5th PragTic Users Meeting held in Hotel Rytirsko in October 21-23, 2013. The workshop is located in the central part of the Czech Republic, less than 1 km away from the D1 highway. It consists of a series of educative lectures presented by invited speakers. The preliminary information on the lectures as well as other details can be found at the conference website http://www.pragtic.com/UM.php (in the right bottom part of the PragTic website www.pragtic.com).
Thank you for considering your participation.

Finite Difference Method Boundary conditions at corner

I am implementing finite difference scheme for the simple 2D Laplace
equation. I am facing problem in imposing boundary conditions in 9-point
stencil. What boundary conditions should I give at the vertex i.e. at
the corner where two boundaries intersect.

e.g.- For square plate what should be boundary condition at four vertices?

What should be the boundary condition at vertices in Dirichlet problem?either homogeneous or non-homogeneous?

Please help in this regard.

UEL subroutine for a Heat Transfer and inner generation

Submitted by nekovolta on

Hi everyone,

I am trying to solve a problema of heat transfer in which
there is an inner heat generation (Q). I know that Abaqus has a subroutine
called HETVAL in which this procedure is very easy to implement, but for other
porpuses later on I need to do using a UEL subroutine.
