Hello,
I have model a laminated composite I-beam by using shell elements in abaqus. I have provided the boudary conditions and loading at neutral axis so that it fullfill the conditions of classical laminated beam theory and I am getting good results. Now I want to anayse this beam for timoshenko beam theory. I have change the element S4 from S4R to include the shear deformation. So please tell me what else condtitions I need to provide in modelling the beam for timoshenko beam theory. How can I include the assumption "plane section remains plane before and after bending but not perpendicular to the axis", i.e. rotation effect.
Please help me out from this problem.
