A Postdoctoral Fellow position is available in the Computational Solid Mechanics Laboratory

(CSML) in the Division of Physical Sciences and Engineering at King Abdullah University of

Science and Technology (KAUST). Candidates with experience in one or more of the following

research areas are encouraged to apply:

(1) Constitutive modeling of materials (metals, biological tissues, polymers, gels, soft active

materials, …etc.)

My name is Nguyen Vinh Phu, a PhD student at Delft University of Technology, the Netherlands. I have been working with Prof. Bert Sluys on a project named "Coarse graining of failure in heterogeneous solids" since July 2007. We have an immediate opening for an outstanding post-doctoral fellow in our Multiscale Mechanics& Physics (MMP) Laboratory.  We are broadlyinterested in the fundamental physics and mechanics of nano/bio materials andtheir applications in innovative nano/bio devices. The focus of our current projects include: (i) nanoscale transport phenomena in pharmaceutical, biomedical and biologicalsystems, (ii) mechanics of nanodefects and their applications in engineering nanodevices,(iii) multifunctional and advanced materials for structural applications.
