connecting parts with different mesh densities in abaqus explicit

Hello everybody,

I am trying to apply the tie constraint to two parts with different degree of mesh density. This works fine but when I apply the penalty contact method with friction between the modified parts and a third part, I obtain the following message;

Abaqus Error: The executable explicit_dp.exe
aborted with system error "Illegal memory reference" (signal 11).
Please check the .dat, .msg, and .sta files for error messages if the files

General query regarding MLPG method

I have few general queries regarding MLPG meshfree method

1. Can the trial and test functions be taken same for solving a problem

2. In the problem if there are zones with different properties, for example different Coeffiencient of Permeability in the aquifers (Plan view-wise), how to handle the interface between the zones and assemble the global matrix

Abaqus single cpu and multiple cpus

Dear all,

        I am running a abaqus job to simulate the failure mechanism of a pile-foundation system. The material used is mohr-coulomb soil. I found that if I use multiple cpus for the calculation, I got different results each time (at the step which does not converge). However, If I just use single cpu, there is no such kind of problem, each time I got the same results.

         Anyone else has this experiences before? I am quite confused.

ABAQUS subroutine for piezoelectric material

Hi,

I need to model a 3D piezoelectric material in ABAQUS then i need to include the non-linear constitutive equation to understand the behaviour of the material, please help me to know whether i need to use UMAT or VUMAT subroutine for incorporating the non-linear constitutive equation.
