Double fourier series coefficient

Submitted by sragrawal on

Hi,

           I am doing M.tech project , which requires to get the double fourier series coefficient so that it can be used for calculating buckling load of the cylindrical shell. I have (x,y,z) data, basically the surface.Please tell me how can i get coefficient using matlab code or any other software.

hello,

as title says, does anyone knows how to fix a limit to the time that an abaqus job takes to be calculated.

this is because i am running several jobs sequentially, and i want to set that for instance if some job takes too much time, just stop it and go to the next one.

thank you a lot.

ABAQUS-welding

Submitted by sragrawal on

Hi,

    I am doing M.tech project which involve the simulation of cylindrical shell involving welding.I need to simulate a weld ,as if shell(cylindrical pipe ) is formed by welding.I need to perform the buckling analysis in abaqus. I don't know how to simulate welding?please help it is urgent.

Finite element software with analytical sensitivity analysis

Submitted by edub on

 As structural optimization can be, of course, greatly sped up with the use of analytical sensitivies (analytical gradients) of the e.g. stress with respect to geometrical design variables, I wanted to inquire which FE software has the functionality.  The ones I am aware of: NASTRAN can and ANSYS cannot. How about others?

 Many thanks in advance!

Inaccurate UMAT result in SMP model

Hello:

I have written a UMAT subroutine similar to the one shown in abaqus 6.11 subroutine manual 1.1.40 with a slight differences indicative of the material's rheological model.

my expanded isotropic model looks like:

sigma_x - sigmav_x/3 + vbar*sigma_dot_x + kappa*sigma_dot_x =

lambda*eplv + 2*mu*epl_x + lamdabar*eplv_dot_x +2*mubar*epl_x

where:

sigma = stress

epl = strain

_dot_ are my rate change with time

sigmav = sigmaxx + sigma_yy + sigma_zz ( hydrostatic stress)

Dear all,

I have problem during importing an input file.The error is as below

''The keyword is misplaced''

and the .inp file is as below; (problem is with highlighted statement *user element*)

http://www.4shared.com/file/waXE8ayB/hydro.html?

I have changed many times place of it but problem still exists.
