how to compute cavitation effect by ABAQUS

hi

i need to simulate the "bulk" and "local" cavitation region around a structure in fluid subjected to underwater explosion.

maybe i need to calculate the negative pressure regions. but how?!

how can i define the condition and compute that cavitation effects by ABAQUS?

Hi every one . I am working on Simulation of precision glass molding process with the help of  Abaqus . Do any one have idea to simulate the glass at temprature 1400oC ? Please send me any usefull material regarding it.

Errors in ABAQUS

Hi every one,

 

I'm new in ABAQUS and trying to do wave propagation by using it. I'm using ABAQUS 6.12-3

In a cantilever beam I'm using explicit C3D8R elements by a dyamic pulse load. But I got this error:

 DEGREE OF FREEDOM 11 AND AT LEAST ONE OF DEGREES OF FREEDOM 1 THRU 6 MUST BE ACTIVE IN THE MODEL FOR *DYNAMIC TEMP-DISP. CHECK THE PROCEDURE AND ELEMENT TYPES USED IN THIS MODEL.

The only output which I specified for it, is displacement and velocity in the tip of the beam as a history output request.

Defining plasticity in ABAQUS

Hi all,

I am using Abaqus to simulate the behavior of a steel connection using a Static,General analysis. For bolts, the last values ​​for yield stress and plastic strain are 1 and 0.05, respectively.After running the model, I get values ​​of equivalent plastic strain in the bolts of 0.15.

Why do I get values ​​that are higher than the ones I define? Shouldn't I get a maximum of 0.05?  What can I be doing wrong?

Could anyone help me rectify the following error:

For a self contact surface, the facets of the elements in element set ErrElemFacetThick3d-Step1 are thicker than the edge or diagonal lengths of the facets. Use the MAXRATIO parameter on *SURFACE to allow automatic rescaling of the contact thicknesses where necessary for this surface. Refer to the status file for further details.

 

Equivalent Plastic Strain Contours

I tried plotting equivalent plastic strain contours against distance from the crack tip for a problem involving mixed-mode loading of aluminium.But,unfortunately,when i saw the plot,it had for the same value 0.0,i mean exactly at the tip,it is showing a number of  plastic strain values???Could someone help me in this issue???
