Hi,
I have a 3D orphan mesh in abaqus and I need to select a group of nodes that belong to the orphan mesh and that would have been on a 3D surface of the parent solid before it was orphaned.
Dear everybody
Pleas ask me,what are the main disadvantages of lagrange multipliers method in meshless methods?
Thanks
Dear everybody,
I have just studied Abaqus and would like to use Vumat to simulate the hot ductile
fracture criterion of Freudenthal which have the equation: D=integral(0-fracture strain)
of (Smises stress)*d(strain). The fracture will be appear when I reach 1 unit.
Could you please show me how to write algorithm adding temperature to calculate (D) and
out put (D) in Vumat.
thanks you so much
I am looking forward to hearing from you

In a geometric non linear solution, the algorithm separates the rigid body motion from the total motion of the element.
In ABAQUS-I beliwve one can output the rigid body component of the motion following the geometric non linear analysis. Can anyoen advise what is the card required to output the rigid body component of motion please?
Hello everyone,
Dear users,
Hello every body
I am working on the simulation of micromachining of “glass” in abaqus.
Although the glass is brittle, it shows some plasticity in micromachining
because of the high hydrostatic pressure field present in the machining region.
Now I am looking for an appropriate material model for glass with
elasto-plastic behavior which allows element deletion. I am not sure if "johnson-Holmquist damage model" is suitable for machining simualtion or not? I would be very thankful
if anyone would please help me.
With best regards
Upto what limit is hooke's law really obeyed ? some books say that hooke's law is obeyed up to the proportional limit, while some other books say that hooke's law is upto the elastic limit ? what is the correct answer?
I am trying to model a polymer that has been processed in such a way that it has oriented (orthotropic) material properties and undergoes very high strains (>100%) before break.
