A perspective paper on flexoelectricity by Professor Pradeep Sharma (University of Houston) is published in the March (2016) issue of the Journal of Applied Mechanics. A perspective paper describes an important, emerging field in mechanics. The first perspective paper, by Professor Huajian Gao (Brown University), has been downloaded more than 8000 times since its publication. This new paper by Professor Sharma is the 3rd perspective paper published in JAM. The paper is attached.
Hello,
In the Crystal Plascticity UMAT model for Abaqus (by prof. Hunag) the Bauschinger effect which is important for cyclic loading, is not considered.
Is there any edited version of this UMAT considering this effect for cyclic loading (by also considering kinematic hardening)?
Kind regards,
Omid
Can someone advise me the algorithm for writing VUMAT for C-L model? I have doubts mainly in following steps.
1. Will Elastic and plastic predictor step be similar as isotropic hardening model given in VUMAT example pdf?
2. How to couple damage prediction steps?

Why ANSYS calls the well known "element coordinate system" with their own term, "solution" coordinate system?
Why ANSYS calls the well know method of applying a "bias" for mesh refinement with their own term, "inflation"? -- I looked it up. INFLATION: to cause to expand or distend with air or gas.
Why ANSYS calls the well know method of "partitioning" a solid model with their own term, "slice"? OK, may be "slice" is descriptive, but "inflation"? and "solution cs"?
Dear Colleagues
We kindly inform you that the Abstract Submission Deadline of the XVIII International Colloquium on Mechanical Fatigue of Metals (XVIII ICMFM) to be held in Gijón, Spain, has been extended until the 20th of February of 2016. Moreover, the registration is already open.
We would like also to remind you the organization of two Special Sessions in the frame of the Colloquium, being both still open to receive papers related with the corresponding topics:
Announcing extension of the deadline of application for the two positions that I posted here last week. The deadline is now extended by one week to 21st February 2016.
