The Mechanics of Infrastructure Materials research group are looking to hire a Postdoctoral Research Associate (PDRA) to work in the UKRI Future Leaders Fellowship grant NEWPHASE. The project, led by Dr Emilio Martínez-Pañeda, aims at tackling pressing material degradation challenges at the interface between mechanics and chemistry.

Dear Colleagues,
We just published the comment Shaping the future of robotics through materials innovation in Nature Materials:

This paper describes a numerical scheme that implements reduced order modeling of transient heat transfer problems by enhancing a standard fifinite element code, ABAQUS, and integrating it with proper orthogonal decomposition (POD). The capability of output and manipulation of matrices, the user subroutine for moving heat source and easy enforcement of boundary conditions, and the powerfulness of pre- and post-processing in the commercial software package are leveraged, resulting in a standard and accessible tool for POD analysis.
Applications are invited for a PhD fellowship/scholarship at Graduate School of Technical Sciences, Aarhus University, Denmark, within the Agroecology programme. The position is available from 1st February 2022 or later.
