Modal analysis of automotive body
Hi everybody! I have a problem in applying boundry conditions on Automotive body (Body In White) to get the first bending and torsional natural frequencies.
As the following, are my questions:
1-What are the boundry conditions to get the first bending and torsional natural frequencies?
2-What method in ANSYS is better to get these frequencies?(i mean reduced or subspae method?)
I wish if someone can help me with or any tips to conduct this analysis.
Thanks for your help and time.
Online submission system for International Journal of Applied Mechanics (IJAM) is now LIVE
World Scientific is proud to announce the launch of a new online submission system, Editorial Manager (EM), for International Journal of Applied Mechanics (IJAM). Multiple positions in experimants and CFD
Multiple, assistant researcher/research scientist/postdoctoral positions are available in a large, 4-year duration, Department of Defense program on “Release, Atmospheric Dispersal, and Environmental Fate of Liquid Agents”. The effort is aiming to: (a) achieve a basic understanding of the physics of aero-breakup and dispersal of liquid agents in high-speed flows, (b) achieve a basic understanding of impact/spreading/absorption/reaction/evaporation of drops falling on various substrates, and (c) develop and validate computational tools covering the hierarchy of scales involved and purp
resonent frequency of cantilever
hello every one
is it possible to make a cantilever whose natural frequnecy is less than 1Hz.
if yes what will be its dimensions if the youngs moduless is taken as 2200 n/mm^2 ?
what will be the minimum resonent frequency that i can reached with?

VUMAT and ALE in ABAQUS
Hi all,
Here I encoutered a error in ABAQUS when I include ALE with VUMAT. When ALE was not included with VUMAT, my job can work well while with the combination of VUMAT and ALE, the job cann't work any more due to a "Signal 8" error. And if I use a built-in material model and at the same time ALE, a job can work. Furthermore, element failure is considered in all of the cases.
Anyone can give some suggetion? Thanks in advance!

ALE in ABAQUS and LSDYNA
Hi all,
Can anyone give a description on the diffrence of ALE in ABAQUS and LSDYNA? And also the difference between r-adaptivity and ALE in ABAQUS. It seems ALE in ABAQUS means the same with r-adaptivity in LSDYNA while “ALE” means diffrently in the two codes.
Thanks a lot!
