STROH formalism or Lekhnitskii in MATLAB

Submitted by mgz1985 on

Hi All,

I am a PhD student working with anisotropic elasticity to model T-stress. I understand the simplicity of derivation in Stroh formalism but am lost in the Matrix algebra whereas Lekhnitskii provides complex derivation for the formulation but on first glance, it seems more user friendly for numerical modelling.

Does someone have an experience in modelling the either one formalisms with MATLAB and could he share his experience?

Thanks for the sharing of information.

supports in Abaqus

Submitted by mahmood seraji on

Dear friends

I am modeling a
plate subjected to the vertical loading. the problem is, when the analysis goes
to the nonlinear part, the reactions in some nodes get negative value, while the
plate must be free to move upwards. so there must be no negative value
for reaction. i was wondering, if someone help me define the support in a way
that the plate would be free to move upward and constrain it for the downward
movwement.

Modeling of RC Beam in ANSYS

Submitted by A. B. M. Amrul Kaish on
Dear All,

I
faced problem in modeling Reinforced Concrete Beam considering discrete
reinforcement. Its a 10'X12"X6" sized beam reinforced with 2-10mm long
bar. I first model the concrete volume, mesh it & then create link
elements individually. The model shows ultimate load, deflection, mid
span stress very much close to theoretical values. But the problem is:
it doesn't show any crack/crush in concrete. I tried to get it, but
failed.

Damage models implementation in ABAQUS

Submitted by Hakkı ISIK on

Hi all

I am M.Sc. sutdent in Istanbul Technical University and my research subject is comparision of several ductile damage models both computationaly and experimentally.

I am trying to compare ductile damage models such as Freudenthal,Cockroft,Ayada ,Brozzo etc. computationally using ABAQUS and seeking a way to implement these damage models in ABAQUS.

To obtain each models damage result individually should damage model be implemented in ABAQUS or  can a regular tensile test results be used for calculation of damage values.

Could you please advise me for methodolgy to run a simulation to obtain ductile damage values accordng to models mentioned above.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hakkı ISIK.
