Title: More than physics, more than data: Integrated machine-learning models for materials
Abstract:
I am looking for a postdoctoral research assistant to join my group at the University of Oxford to study the mechanical and degradation behaviour of biodegradable polymers. The position is to be filled as soon as possible, with a fixed term contract until 31st July 2026. Possible extension will depend on funding availability.
I am looking to recruit 1-2 PhD students to start at the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Boston University in Fall (September) 2025. I am interested in working with students with a background and passion for computational and applied mechanics at the continuum scale, applied to modern scientific problems. My specific recent research interests lie in: (1) Elastogranular mechanics; (2) Non-traditional forms of computing and physical intelligence; (3) Topological mechanics and dynamics; (4) Coupled physics phenomena. My work is generally collaborative w
We have multiple (Direct) PhD positions in the field of micromechanics of polycrystals, e.g., metals and alloys as well as ceramics. Our research focuses on finite element modelling and diffraction-based characterization of deformation and fracture of polycrystalline materials. Currently our research themes include:
Applications are invited for a 2-year postdoc position in the area of crystal plasticity and finite element modeling of advanced materials. This position is a full-time position at the University of Western Ontario, Canada, and the selected applicant can start effective immediately.
The aim of the project is to understand the fracture of advanced materials under various thermomechanical loads and irradiation environments. The selected applicant will collaborate with other group members of Multiscale Deformation Lab.

Introduction
The Extreme Mechanics Letters (EML) Young Investigator Award (YIA) 2024 edition is organized by the journal and Elsevier to honor the best paper by a young scientist. The papers must have been published in volumes 63-69, from 2023 to 2024.
The award is made annually to the corresponding authors of the paper who received their Ph.D. no more than 10 years prior to the year of award. Corresponding authors who have yet to receive a Ph.D. will also be considered and self-nominations are allowed.
