EUROMECH “Mechanics of soft active polymers” Colloquium therefore welcomes the scientists, the early career researchers and industry researchers to contribute to the three sessions devoted to Theory, Experimental and numerical approaches, Applications, including sensors, actuators, robotics and energy harvesters.
Thanks to Weingarten’s formulae [1], which date to 1861, the bending deformation of a Kirchhoff-Love shell can be characterized by examining the variation of the unit normal vector to the surface of the shell.
The job entails providing advanced technical guidance on various aspects of computational Structural Mechanics with a focus on Additive Manufacturing to clients in industry and academia.
Universal displacements are those displacements that can be maintained, in the absence of body forces, by applying only boundary tractions for any material in a given class of materials. Therefore, equilibrium equations must be satisfied for arbitrary elastic moduli for a given anisotropy class. These conditions can be expressed as a set of partial differential equations for the displacement field that we call universality constraints. The classification of universal displacements in homogeneous linear elasticity has been completed for all the eight anisotropy classes.
Application of quantum computing in structural optimization problems.
IHPC is seeking a highly motivated research scientist to apply quantum computing techniques in engineering mechanics optimization problems. The project aims to develop and adopt
quantum computing to optimal designed advanced materials and related quantum computing algorithms development, numerical analysis of structures and materials with pure or hybrid
SDU Mechatronics and the Centre of Industrial Mechanics, part of the Department of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering and the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Southern Denmark in Sønderborg, invites applications a position as associate or assistant professor in mechanical engineering, within multi-body dynamics and simulation, preferably with experience in one or more of the following fields: Linear Elasticity and Plasticity, CAD and CAE, Advanced Finite Element Methods including applications,
I'm looking for a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher in the area of fatigue and fracture metal 3D printing pars. Candidates who are skilled in fatigue, 3D printable architected mechanical metamaterials, FE analysis of nonlinear solids, and fatigue fracture are encouraged to apply.
Selected candidate will work in Fatigue and Fracture of Materials group, under supervision of Dr. Malekan, at SDU Sønderborg - University of Southern Denmark.
A PostDoc/Research Associate Position is available immediately at Colorado School of Mines. The applicants should have a PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science or a relevant field, with a strong background in MD simulations and/or phase-field modeling. The project involves developing new models for diffusionless phase transformation and ferroelasticity. Knowledge of machine learning and data analysis is a plus.
