Dear Colleagues, Please find attached the new 2016 issue of the ASME Applied Mechanics Division Newsletter.

We invite you to participate at our session on Physics and Mechanics of Ductile Failure: Modeling and Experiments at ASME 2016 IMECE to be held in Phoenix, Arizona, USA during November 11-16, 2016.

The deadline for submission of abstracts is March 7, 2016. The session is organized under Track 12,  #12-35 Physics and Mechanics of Ductile Failure: Modeling and Experiments.

The Applied Mechanics Division, of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers, seeks nominations for the awards listed below. All the awards are international. Neither the nominee nor the nominator need be a member of the ASME. However nominators must not be active members of the respective award committees. 2014 Thomas J.R. Hughes Young Investigator Award - Professor Katia Bertoldi

The Executive Committee of the ASME Applied Mechanics Division is pleased to announce and congratulate Professor Professor Katia Bertoldi, Associate Professor, School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, Harvard University, is the recipient of the 2014 Thomas J. R. Hughes Young Investigator Award.
