Nodal stress and strain history output from Abaqus

Hi everyone,

I am trying to get the history output of
strain and stress tensor components at a node. However after analysis is
finished no such data are saved in the result section. I think Abaqus
only gives the stress and strain for elements and not at nodes. Any help
would be highly appreciated. Please consider that I am a new abaqus
use.

Crack propagation in gusset plate subjected to dynamic stress time history

Hello everyone,

I want to analyse the inspection interval for the crack propagation in a gusset plate of a truss joint subjected to dynamic loading. I have the dynamic stress time history acting on the plate. Since I am new to abaqus I dont have much idea how to model the crack in the plate.Please kindly help me with this.

criterion to stop crack analysis in xfem

my problem is dealing with a fatigue crack propagation analysis using XFEM (linear elastic case) with a prescribed initial imperfection in the modeled solid. What is the criterion to exit from such a kind of analysis?

Crack Propagation by Cohesive Element

Hi everyone,

 I've been working on crack propagation problem by cohesive elements in Abaqus.

 I have a sandwich struture where adhesive bonds two steels together. And I've attached part of my input file in the following.

 I can have the stress and strain distribution, but I really expect the crack will propagate in the midplane of the adhesives. I don't know whether I have to preset a line in the middle of adhesive as existing crac, or I can set some crack interaction to get the crack growth result.

Hello again

 

Im running a simulation on Abaqus and i got the next text message:

 

Abaqus Error: The executable C:\SIMULIA\Abaqus\6.11-PR3\exec\standard.exe 

aborted with system error code 884. 

Please check the .dat, .msg, and .sta files for error messages if the files 

exist.  If there are no error messages and you cannot resolve the problem, 

please run the command "abaqus job=support information=support" to report and 

save your system information

Finding effect of transverse varck on shaft using ANSYS

I want to find effect of transverse crack on rotating shaft by using ANSYS software, I trying modal analysis but couldn't get results, so plz if somebody have tutorials for modal analysis of cracked rotor then plz send me.

[Abaqus] How to assign surface properties to all elements?

Dear All,

Anyone know how to assign surface contact properties to all elements in Abaqus?

i.e. all elements have contact (cohesive) properties on each boudary, so a crack propagates following those boundaries without defining pre-known crack path.

Does Abaqus support those automatic insertion fuction since manually inserting properties to all elementary boundaries is non sense...

XFEM Crack Growth Across Bi-material Interface

 I am using XFEM in ABAQUS to simulate crack growth from one material to another. Although the crack passes through the interface, the simulation stops after crack growth of few more elements with this error:

"THE FRACTURE CRITERION f=1.5400 AT ELEMENT 2469, THE DAMAGE INITIATION TOLERANCE HAS BEEN EXCEEDED AND CUTBACK IS REQUIRED."

 This element is the one right next to the crack front.

 I have tried to increase the damage initiation tolerance > 0.5 and the crack grows one more element and then same error.

XFEM Stress Intensity Factor

Hi All

I am trying to obtain SIF value for a stationary crack using XFEM in Abaqus.

I am using the 5th contour value and plotting against distance from crack front using excel.
The values are from History Output.

 I am getting a very funny graph that is going up and down.
