Representative volume element (RVE) based crystal plasticity study of void growth on phase boundary in titanium alloys

Submitted by Amir Siddiq on

Hi All,

We have published an interesting short article on void growth in dual phase titanium alloys. More detailed results are currently under review and will be reported in near future.

Postdoctoral Research Assistant in Modelling Creep Damage

Submitted by acfcocks on

At Oxford University we are seeking to appoint a post doctoral Research Assistant to work on the modelling of cavity nucleation and growth in the heat affected zone of a welded component operating in the creep regime. A detailed advertisement and further particulars about the post can be found in the attached files.

New paper on a Gurson like fracture model for plastically anisotropic materials

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on

Hello All. This is my first blog entry in iMechanica!. This post is about my new paper with Prof. Amine Benzerga entitled "A constitutive model for plastically anisotropic solids with non-spherical voids", accepted for publication in JMPS (URL: http://dx.doi.org/10.1016/j.jmps.2010.03.007 ). In case you are not able to view the online version, a preprint of the paper is attached. This paper should be of interest to anyone working in the ductile fracture area. Your comments and feedback are welcome.
