Are there any numerical or analytic formula for the estimation of dislocation density?

Submitted by arash.p.j on

1. There are several experimental microscopy techniques for the calculation of dislocation density; but are there any reliable numerical ones, as well ? like those, which least include experimental parameters, except for some initial ones, like the initial density of dislocation, such as Reid's formula [1].

2. as a result of dislocation accumulation after deformation, slip bands form. are there any numerical techniques for slip band density estimation?

abstract:
New mathematical and numerical formulations are developed for effective time-dependent non ageing viscoelastic behavior of linear viscoelastic composites. The modeling is based on the dynamic Green's functions, integral equations, and Volterra product. The time concentration tensor is derived through numerical solution of the integral equation and the Mori-Tanaka micromechanical

Properties Lamina/Composite-Composite Layup using Abaqus

Submitted by Antonin17 on

Hey everybody,

Actually I don't have the same thickness everywhere(that decreases little by little). I tried to part but it's not exactly the same thickness in the same part. Do you know if that can cause a problem? For example I have a scrap like that 10 mm+-2mm for thickness. I would think to fill in the composite layup like that Ply1 : 2 mm-Core : 6 mm-Ply2 : 2 mm

I use this occasion to ask you two more questions :

ductility of carbon nanotube reinforced composites.

HELLO,

I want to know if carbon nanotubes reinforced composites are ductile as I want to do hydroforming process by using ABAQUS or any other metal forming process that can be implemented.

If it is formable than what are values of yeild strength, ultimate tensile strength, plastic strain, etc.

the matrix material is polymer(PmPV).

THANK YOU.

Can anyone suggest a lab for me to manufacture CNT reinforced ceramic composites

Dear colleagues,

I'm a graduate student from University of Pittsburgh. I want to make a CNT reinforced ceramic composites (woven structure), but cannot find people to make it for us. Can anyone introduce me any labs or company who can help me? Thanks!

Hi everybody,

I'm trying to simulate the structural behavior of High Performance Fiber Reinforced Concrete specimens by means of the Concrete Damaged Plasticity Model.

My constitutive relation is represented by a multilinear law, with a nonlinear pre-peak followed by a softening branch.

stress strain curve problem

Submitted by darsticxx on
hey all

i am  try to find the the concrete stress strain curve according to paper with i attached (i highlight the main equation with red)

Mainly there is 3 parts, the first part is linear and the second part is curve according to the equation.

My question the two parts don't meet at the same point so this will create the graph the i did in excel

So could any one help me or tell me if this affect the result in ABAQUS
