The group of Prof. Liming Xiong at the Iowa State University has an immediate opening for a self-motivated Ph.D. student in the general area of computational solid mechanics and computational materials science. Atomistic simulation, DD, PFM and FEM experience will be a plus. The enrollment into the Ph.D. program is as early as Fall 2016, financially supported by a Research Assistantship. Please contact the PI directly if you are interested:
Workshop on Predictive Multiscale Materials Modelling was held at the Isaac Newton Institute for Mathematical Sciences, University of Cambridge UK. Slides and videos of all presentations can be seen at the workshop website.
A postdoctoral research fellow is sought to join the Laboratory for Nonequilibrium Phenomena (neplab.net) under the direction of Prof. Justin W. Wilkerson at the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA).
Applications are sought for a motivated/independent Post-Doctoral Research Associate to conduct research on the nonlinear elastic response of porous materials. This project is a component of a larger program, involving Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) and Chevron USA, to investigate linear and nonlinear elastic response of porous materials as a function of their quasi-static state. The postdoc will be responsible for the theoretical development of modeling that will interface a sequence of on-going experimental studies.
We have an open research positions (as Research Associate or Postdoctoral Scholar) to work in the Computational and Experimental Materials Engineering Laboratory at the Mechanical Engineering Department, Johns Hopkins University. The successful candidate will work on the development of accelerated computational models and simulation platforms for various problems of interest on CUDA-enabled GPUs and hybrid CPU/GPU platforms. The work will involve direct interactions and close collaboration with other project partners.
Requirements:
Advanced Materials and Multifunctional Structures (AMMS) Group at Masdar Institute (MI) is seeking suitably qualified candidates for PhD/Postdoctoral positions. Please see attached document for details
