Ansys Problem

Hi
I am
working on a model on Ansys for joining two dissimilar materials. I
chose the element type solid 70. The problem was appears after I glued
the two materials using the volume glue command, then while meshing the
the volumes an error message appears (invalid topology for mapped
brick mesh).
The question is how can I glue these two materials and mesh them with mapped meshing command without problems.
Thank you

Hi,

I have to perform thermomechanical analysis of turning process in ABAQUS as a part of my project.

Is there any documentation or tutorials available for it?

Kindly provide me with links if it is available.

Thanking in advance.

i am working on autofrettage process in a cylinder with end caps . and i have problems with it. which material model is better to be used , what is the proper element to model it .  what is the best  number of substeps ? and there are errors when i am trying to apply pressure load.

Dear All,

               I am working on the topic of residul stress controlling using FEAFor this I have stuck up in moving heat source and Element Birth and death technique.So please any body is having the some examples on the said topic then its my heartly rrequest to share it with me............My plates are butt welded with size 200x100x12 in size............

help in piezoelectric modelling in ABAQUS

Submitted by raghav1 on

Hi everyone,

I am new to Abaqus and need help to model a piezoelectric patch on a simple beam. The beam is harmonically excited at one end and correspondingly, i need the voltage response out of the piezo.

 I am facing problems in coupling the piezo to the beam - i am repeatedly getting the error

THREE FACTORIZATIONS IN A ROW FAILED. CHECK THE MODEL. IT IS POSSIBLE THAT THE MODEL CONTAINS THE KINEMATIC COUPLING DEFINITION SET UP IN A WAY THAT A DEGREE OF FREEDOM HAS NEITHER MASS NOR STIFFNESS.

Can somebody help. I can provide the file if needed.

Thanks

Simulation for Johnson Cook fit

Submitted by kajalschopra on

Hi,

I have computed the constants in the Johnson cook constitutive model (not the damage model) using my test data.

I have not yet computed the constants in Johnson Cooks damage model.

I want to carry out a simulation of tension test and compare experimental vs FEA results and then improve my model (or constants). I'm using LS Dyna for simulation.

Can I forego the damage model and test the constutive model?

Any help to carry out this simualtion will be appreciated

Unit consistancy

Submitted by buchibabu05 on

Please check the consistancy of the units for AA2024T3, which I am using

Thermal Conductivity = 121W/mk

Dencity = 2770 kg/m3

YOungs modulus = 73000000000 N/m2

poisson's ratio = 0.34

Specific heat = 875 J/kg C

Johnson Cook parameters used for Aluminium alloy 2024-T3 (temperature and rate dependent model)

         A = 369000000N/m2

         B = 684000000N/m2

         C = 0.0083

         n = 0.73
