I am looking for this paper and I am putting this request since I cannot purchase this from the Journal website. They have papers available only from 1960s.

Thanks

Dear all

I would like to model two non-linear material as shown in the pictures in ABAQUS. But I can model it with its non-linearities. The model has been created with beam element. I used the classical elastic-plastic model using calibrations but because of elastic non-linearities the calculated plastic strain comes negative. please help me howI can model it

Mathematics of Crack growth

  1.  How to find G (energy release rate) using wnuk's equation? by considering the fracture process zone explaining the assumptions and concept involved??
  2. can anyone explain about : Eshelby's basic assumption for finding the change of displacement after the crack tip has moved a distance x?
  3. How is the general form(equation) for singular parts of the stresses in the plane of the crack  derived (explain the breif fundamentals) ?

I am doing one project regarding simulation of modeling residual stress relaxation for AA2024-T351. I am having trouble in introducing cyclic loading for the material. what are the steps needed to do this simulation? i have attached the workpiece dimensions.

Hello all,

Why is there no body force considered in the equilibrium equations of the RVE in the homogenization technique?

The overall response of the RVE is obtained by solving the RVE boundary value problem under prescribed boundary conditions (either traction or displacement BC) without considering the body force.

Simulate a uniaxial compression test

Submitted by HussamNasreddin on

Hello all,

What is the step and load arrangement you impose on an ABAQUS model to simulate a uniaxial compressive stress test similar to that regularly performed on a concrete cube? Is it done on ABAQUS Explicit or Standard?

I believe the load rate is 6000 N/s untill complete failure of the specimen.

Abaqus- Nodal force and Reaction force

Hi,

What is the difference between the nodal force (NFORC) and Reaction force in abaqus. I applied some displacement in my model, when checking the Reaction and Nodal force at the same node, Nodal force is just half the reaction force. Then I did some experiment and applied some load on a node, after solution when i check the nodal force on the same node, it is half of the applied load. Why is it not  same as the load I applied? I am confused. Please help me.

 Thanks,

Anshul

Help in Progressive Failure of Composite Laminates using Hashin Criteria in Abaqus

Submitted by rakeshkumar35 on

Hi

I am working on Progressive failure of Composite Laminates. I am using Hashin failure criteria for this analysis and I gave all necessary required properties. I am using (45/-45/0/90) 2s composite conventional sell element (s4r5).
