Changing of normal direction in composite analysis

Currently I am doing on a investigation of composite material on a shell plate 

When assigning the region to the shell on composite layup, the coordinate with normal direction is pointing downwards as shown in the picture 

I would like to have my normal direction pointing the same direction(upward) as my global coordinate 

and have tried to change the CSYS but is not helping 

Where can I change/flip the normal direction on the shell?

I want to do research work in analysing composite using the ansys or similar software.I want to get the details regarding modelling the laminated composites.

And also details regarding  analsing the properties of composite for cyclic load,fatique load,and torsion.

I am currently researching the
fluid-structure interaction (FSI) of fistula and av-grafts in the region
of the brachial artery in dialysis patients. I will be using ANSYS
Mechanical and FLUENT as the coupling offered is strong/implicit which
is necessary for my model. I'm having some trouble implementing the
anisotropic hyperelastic material model for the artery. This material is
in the 'Special Hyperelastic Materials' section and thus needs to be

consistent algortihm tangent stiffness

Greetings, 

im not really understanding about why we need to apply consistent algortihm tangent stiffness? 
In my case, i need model the concrete behavior from linear until softening part and then for sure we need to apply for the elastic predictor and palstic corrector. 
My question is what purpose of applying consistent algortihm tangent stiffness?? thanks

How to use multiple GPUs in ABAQUS command line?

Hello,

I am new to abaqus command line and trying to solve massive explicit dynamics and steady dynamics models. I want to use multiple CPUs and GPUs to sole this. I searched on internet and found the syntax as:

c:\Temp> abaqus job=Job-1 cpus=16 gpus=1 input=file1.inp double interactive

Is this syntax correct, especially gpus part? or do I need to write some more command to use GPU, such as type of GPU or something like that? Can someone tell me what "double interactive" in above syntax means?

Any suggestions or ideas on how to simulate a drop test in abaqus?

Hello,

I am working on a research to simulate a drop test of a package box with ceramic saucer inside. I am not proficient in abaqus so I am looking for some suggestions.

Till now, I created a hollow box with 2 mm thickness to represent it as a cardboard box and a disc for a saucer. I have material properties for cardboard and saucer. Then I assembled the model in abaqus such that saucer is touching box at the bottom; this was initial condition.

ABAQUS Reinforced Concrete Beam Model

Hi All,



I am trying to model a simply supported reinforced concrete beam with longitudinal reinforcement. I am using 8-node solid elements for the concrete, and 2-node truss elements for the longitudinal reinforcement bars. I have embedded the reinforcement bars in the concrete using an Embedded Region constraint. I am then applying a displacement at the midspan (deflection control). I am using the Concrete Damaged Plasticity model for the concrete. My model begins to run but will not converge. Some of the error messages that I get are:
