I am looking for a viscoelastic model for transversely isotropic materials with applications in geomechanics. I also look for the material properties and viscoelastic coefficients for one or two TIV material. Can any one help me?

Imaginary part of a orthotropic material in subroutine UMAT

Submitted by jiriondo on

Hi everyone,

I want to model a complex stiffness matrix of a orthotropic material in a UMAT subroutine. I want to define the real part and imaginary part of the different Young's and shear modulus and create the C matrix.

Is it correct to use the UMAT subroutine or is there any other subroutine more appropriate?

And if it is possible to use the UMAT subroutine is enough to define the C matrix or it is necessary to define the constitutive equation?

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Computations in Abaqus with multiple cpus exited with an error

Submitted by msolli on

Hi every body,

I'm trying to simulate an abaqus job with mutiple cpus using the command

abaqus job=job.inp user=user.for cpus=8 double

the job exited with an error in the subroutine (some variables are found to be 0).

but when using the command

abaqus job=job.inp user=user.for double

the job completed,

I have to performs computations with mutiple cpus for gain of time but without succes.

any help please.

In SPH method, does it need fracture criterion?

Submitted by guojunhang on

In abaqus ,  there is an example for SPH. It can be obtained by:

abaqus fetch job=ver_prc_projectileimpact.inp

There are two fracute criterion in this file.

But even both of them are removed, the simulation results are similar.

Why?

In SPH method, does it need fracture criterion?

Modeling of concrete with Ansys 15

Submitted by Patrizia on

Good morning, I am a student in civil engineering and I am trying to model a reinforced concrete beam with Ansys 15. I would like to ask to somebody how can I model the non linear behaviour of concrete. I have already tryied to use the inelastic non metal plasticity model provided by the software but I don't know where to find the parameters (and also definitions of them) required like:

- open shear transfer coef;

- closed shear transfer coef;

- uniaxial cracking stress;

- uniaxial crushing stress.

I am looking for values of the displacement at failure or Fracture energy of Al2024-T3 alloy

Submitted by khalchris on

Hi All,

Does anyone have the values for the fractrue energy or/and displacement at failure for Al2024-T3, I am trying to find them for my simulations.

Many thanks
