A question regarding applying the boundary conditions in thin film peeling

Hello all,

As is my understanding that, in analytical models such as "Kendall Peeling Model", when they talk about peeling angle it is the angle at which the peeling force is applied (or am I wrong?). But when it comes to FE analysis, if we displace one end of the film at an angle by applying displacement boundary conditions on that end, the resulting forces are not along the same direction of the displacements. So, I am confused as to how to compare the FE results with that of the analytical models.

Thank you.

change the friction angle with the plastic strain in Abaqus following mohr coulomb model.

Submitted by majid_f1993 on

Hi,
I want to change the friction angle with the plastic strain in Abaqus following mohr coulomb model.
Vermeer and de Borst (1984) proposed an equation for frictional hardening and I want to use that. In their equation, the shear hardening parameter obtains from below equation(first picture) and then the friction angle changes with the shear hardening parameter.
So I have to use the usdfld code in my model.
I code that to calculate the shear hardening parameter, and then I put it equal to FIELD1. I attached the usdfld code to this post.

The variation of wave velocity in function of the applied tensile forces on prestressed cables and tendons

Submitted by DJEFFAL Hamza on

Dear all members,

I am trying to find a theoretical backrgound, numerical issues that could describe the tension force effect on the wave velocity on prestressed concrete tendons, there some experimental topics but i can not find any finite element model that could give a valid approch of this non-linear behavior. Actually working with the general purpose package Abaqus software to model the effect of tension level effect on the longitudinal vibration.

Any ideas or help would be appreciated.

Kind regards

Hi!

I am new to abaqus and am simulating biiaxial test on GFRP cross ply laminates. The simulation stops saying " excessive distortion of 2 elements". Can someone please suggest a detailed solution.

Ps- im a beginner , so I request a detailed suggestion please.

Thanks.

Eigenvalue problem in Abaqus

Submitted by ntuecd on

Hallo,

i am doing a eigenvalue test for a car body by using Abaqus. The computation runs successfully, but the 7, 8, 9, and 10 th mode are very small ( 1.264 * 10^-4). This means the model of the car body contains some loose parts.

I wanted to know if there is any way to find in Abaqus, which part of the body is loose.

Thanks for your help.

Modeling/defining Loop of blocks of different load amplitude

Dear all

In the experiment setup, the fatigue loading spectrum has a loop of 2 blocks of load amplitude. First load amplitude the higher applied for 2X time period followed by lower load amplitude for X time period then the loop repeated till failure.  the load sequence was High-Low and Low-High in this loop. X was in thousands so might be suggested as the cyclic response will be stabilized in the first 10 cycles, the first block will dominate the fatigue behaviour at least till fracture, or damage initiation.

Hello,

Does anyone know, if there is a simple way to change the order of tetragonal mesh. I have a mesh given by list of nodes and a list of elements so I need to add additional nodes. The elements have straight edges, so there is no problem of curvature.

Kind regards,

Karol
