Hello all friends here:

I want to ask a question:

"How to deactivate solidworks2008 license in one PC and then transfer to another PC? Are there any instruction I could follow?"

If some friends know how to do this, could you please do me a favor?

      Highly appreciate.

Regards.

Constitutive Matrix for Viscoelasticity

Hi,

Can anyone please tell me the constitutive or the 'C' matrix  for a linear viscoelastic material model (with no relaxation in bulk)? I have been using the one outlined in the Computaional Mechanics book by Simo and Taylor, but I feel that ANSYS is using a different matrix as my results are different from ANSYS. I could not find details about the 'C' matrix for a viscoelastic material anywhere else. Any links too might be helpful.

Thanks,

Shriram

SPH for fluid dynamics

Dear Colleges,

I have a number of questions concerning practical implementation of Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics for fluid dynamics. I would really appreciate if you can give me some useful hints or references.

First, how to set initial values for volumes or mass and density associated with a particle? So far, I've not found a satisfactory explanation how to do this.

defining a node and element locations while meshing a volume

Hi,

I am trying to model a piezo disc bonded to a steel plate for lamb wave simulation. I am currently modeling the piezos as rectangular with nodes coincident with the plate nodes and just coupling them. I would like to do that with a circular geometry for the piezos, but for that I need to define nodes in the disc that coincide with the plate nodes. How can I do that? Can I define my own node locations in a volume for meshing? Thanks in advance for your help.

Bending Stiffness of Twisted Beams

Submitted by gr_jayanth on

Hello!

I was looking to analytically obtain the local bending stiffness of a uniform selender beam which has been twisted along the longitudinal axis (please note that the beam is not 'pre-twisted', i.e, it not twisted in its unstressed state). The exact problem statement is written below. I would be extremely grateful if I can get directions on how to approach the problem or references where such a problem is addressed. Thank you very much!

Problem statement:

Linux system RAM

Submitted by henryjamesusa on

To all friends:

In light of the fact that i have a complicated model to calculate and i need more RAM to work on the Linux abaqus, i gonna insert more RAM into our workstation. Hence, could anyone tell me what is the maximum RAM i could insert in our computer (64bit system, Core2 Quad, 250G)?

    Thanks and appreciate.

About Linux ABAQUS

Hi all friends:

I am an ABAQUS user and I have a question about LINUX ABAQUS.

Actually, when i finish all defining precedures in LINUX ABAQUS and submit the job, the job status will always remain "submitted" and never "running",which means that my job is not calculated. And after several hours later, the message area will show me that my PC have idled for 3hours and my licensed will be checked in several minutes and several minutes later, the status still remain the same, i mean "submitted".
