Dear Friend,

I am doing my PhD and my topic includes Simulation of Orthogonal Cutting Process in Abaqus. I am very new to Abaqus. May i request you to please send me some helping tutorials/files for the same. I shall be highly obliged.

Theory of Piezoelectricity

Submitted by Anonymous (not verified) on

Hi there;

Do anyone know? I mean, is there any graduate course in the title of "Theory of Piezoelectricity" or "Theory of Electroelasticity" -or thing like that, related to the concepts of electro-mechanical coupling behaviour of smart materials- at any university? If so, would you please tell me the name of that institute?

I appreciate any assistance.

Thank you;

Macro in Hypermesh TCL code and Matlab

Hi all,

I need to create a macro in Hypermesh with a TCL programming code. I have two problems. I've had the code yet, but It's written in Matlab code, I've heard that TCL can talk to Matlab by DDE. The second problem is that I don't know anything about TCL code. Anyone can help me, anyway?

Many thanks

Missing plies in the composite intersection

Submitted by deepthi on

HI,

I am modelling a composite intersection using Abacus. At the intersection , the plies are missing. My intersection is combination of two objects with different fiber direction. I need plies at the intersection but didnt find any way to do it. Can anyone help me with it.

Thanks

Hi all

I am currently in my Master Degree in Civil Engineering . I am doing a research on concrete wrapped FRP sheets  with seismic loads and I want to do Finite Element Analysis using ANSYS. I already model concrete in ANSYS. Can anyone please help me  how to apply CYCLIC LOADS to the model.

and is it  necessary to make contact between different parts of solid element or not?

Awaiting the reply....

Incompressibility and Bulk Stress for Viscoelasticity

Submitted by shrimad on

Hi all,

I am performing compression on a viscoelastic material with relaxation only in shear and the bulk being nearly incompressible.

The relaxation times for shear are of the order of millisecons so shear stress is dissipated almost immediately at the end. But there are high stresses due to bulk part.

A very basic doubt in Strength Of Materials

Submitted by ROHAN_SK on

Hi Members,

This may seem a very basic or even stupid question to you all , but it still leaves me with a doubt regarding the concept behind the WHY and HOW of this. So however trivial this may seem Please bear wiith it and Help me Clearify my concept and getting the right idea.

Rubber fatigue testing. Displacement Controlled tests vs Force Controlled test

Submitted by Álvaro Sañudo Acosta on

Hi,

I need some advice about the next topic. I've been asked to develop a Haigh Diagram for Natural Rubber as André et al.{1} or Saintier et al. {2} do, and from it, be able to predict the fatigue life of a train suspension. This authors carried out the fatigue tests under displacement control and they considered that the sample had failed when a 1mm crack appeared, because they were studing the crack initiation.

Axisymmetric mesh in ANSYS Workbench

Hi everybody,

I am trying to investigate a biaxial
membrane inflation experiment of human aortic tissue by the help of
ANSYS Workbench. Before examining the actual anisotropic tissue I
however am trying to create a model based upon a hyperelastic, but still
isotropic, material. I have chosen the pre-listed neoprene rubber in
ANSYS Workbench.
