Regarding thermo mechanical simulation of Hot rolling

Submitted by Manoj Krishna … on

Hi ,

I have to do a thermo mechanical simulation of rolls (which is used for hot rolling process). I did plain starin cold rolling problem using 2-d analytical rigid surface. But I am quite confused to do the same for hot rolling process. Since during hot rolling thermal load also comes into play. Now how to solve this thermo mechanical coupled problem is an utmost question to me. I have tried to understand the heat transfer problem from given examples of friction brake disk. But it was not cleared.

sir

please guide me for the use of ansys Command IRLF,1...

this is used for  static analysis of free free model ..but in free free model like flying aircarft .. it is a dynamic system..

and please also suggest about the significance of displacement and stress plot under this analysis..

i am very much confused in analysing these structure..and applying contraints...

i need your expert advice in  this regards

thanks...

i m trying to do thermal analysis of rapid manufacturing process called LENS in abaqus(64-bit). Based on thermal results(thermal odb), i m doing a stress analysis. In order to complete a 90 step analysis along with DFLUX subroutine using quadritic (DC3D20) elements (approx 30000 elements), it takes nearly 30 hours(intel core i-7 processor and 6Gb of RAM) and more than 7 days to complete stress analysis. 13-14% of the CPU usage is observed duing stress analysis. is there any way to enhance the performance??

Derivative of an expression

Hello iMechanica!

While reading a paper, I've tried to repeat a derivation of a simple tensorial expression given in the paper and my result differs from the result in the paper. Could you please look in to the PDF-File (just 1 page long!) that I have attached to my post and see if I derived everything right? That would be great!

 Thanks a lot in advance!
