Hello everyone!

I have few questions about the sapphire crystal-

1. does anyone know what is the yield strain of this material?

2. is this material can be recycled? and if yes, in which method would it be?

thanks, and it will be great if you have any site that has this information

Micro structure modeling

Submitted by ashkanbonabi on

Hi.

I would like to model Fluid Flow inside of bone Microstructure scaffold by FEM.

I have the mat file (original file that CT machine made for us) of scaffold and it is very complicated image ,we should convert it to 3D solid model.

As you know there are alot of porous that are inside of scaffold and make ,the geometry very complex.

How can I do this job ?

I really need your help .

Thank you

How to import multiple input files in Abaqus/CAE

I am learning Abaqus example problems, such as  " Coupled acoustic-structural analysis of a pick-up truck", I want to import the input files to Abaqus/CAE to learn how to build the model and do the analysis, but when I import the input files throug the main menu file->import->model, there is nothing in the model tree; moreover, there are so many input files for one example, how can I import all these files into one model?

How to impose symmetric BCs for acoustic elements with Abaqus/CAE?

Submitted by May on

Dear all,

I am a beginner of Abaqus, and I am using Abaqus/CAE. I need to build an acoustic model for my M.S. thesis. The model is a cubic washing tank filled with water. the bottom of the tank is activated by harmonic sound. Since the geometric symmetry, only a quarter of the model need to be calculated. The question is, how should I impose the symmetric boundary conditions on the acoustic elements (water) with CAE?

I am tangling with this for weeks, and really get headache, can anybody help me out?

 Thanks very much!

Hi Friends

I would like to get informations about ABAQUS aqua which is being used for offshore analysis, if any one have anything about that subject including (tutorials , examples and notes ) I would be grateful to him in providing me with.

Thank you all

constitutive relations (stress-strain) for non-homogeneous materials?

Dear All,

I am student new to this field and I recently found this amazing forum. I have a question that relates to the basic understanding of deformable materials.

I would like to understand better or find references that talk about the constitutive relations (stress-strain) for materials with non homogenous material properties, for

example materials that might have modulus of elasticity of the form E(x), E(x,y), or even E(x,y,z).

First, is a material having E(x,y,z) an anisotropic material?

Consistent mesh for fluid flow in fractured porous media

Submitted by bemgeomechanic on

Hi everyones,

I'm currently working on the subject of fluid flow in fractured porous
media. The fractures are considered as the circles of zero-thinkness in
3D infinite space. The fractures can intersect together.

I want to generate a consistent mesh i.e. it takes into account the
intersection lines between fractures. In the case of small number of
fractures I can performance by hand. (as you see in the attached image1)

ANSYS

Submitted by BALTAR on

Hello

I am using ANSYS for structural ANALYSIS, I want to add PML or absorbing boundary condition in my simulation:

I have a look at help of ansys, there is absorbing boundary for Electermagnetic domain , Structural fluid ,...

I am not able to find the absorbing boundary condition only for structural domain .

Please can sb help me to know that I can add absorbing boundary condition for structural domain in ANSYS?

the second question:when I want to add complex value as an input how it will be possible in ANSYS,

St. Venant-Kirchhoff constitutive law in Abaqus

Submitted by Mike Graham on

I would like to conduct simulations in Abaqus using a St.
Venant-Kirchhoff constitutive law, but when I try to define a material
in Abaqus CAE I do not see it as an option.

Is this available as a
built-in model?

Is this just another material model with a parameter set to a specific value? (Hyperelasticity isn't my strongest area.)
