================================================================

Dear colleagues:

We welcome you to come to New York from July 25-27, 2012 and participate in the NSF-supported workshop on ``Generalized Barycentric Coordinates and Applications.'' Information on the workshop is available at the website: http://www.inf.usi.ch/hormann/nsfworkshop

The main goal is to bring together people from graphics and finite elements, and to learn from each other about methods, applications, and open problems.

Topics to be covered in this workshop include, but are not limited to, the following:

- Barycentric coordinates in computer graphics and geometry processing

- Wachspress finite elements and boundary elements on polygons and polyhedra

- Barycentric coordinates for mesh parametrization, image warping, and mesh deformation

- Barycentric coordinates in computational mathematics

- Connections between barycentric coordinates, discrete differential geometry, and mimetic finite elements

The workshop will include tutorials, plenary lectures, contributed talks, and poster presentations.

Students and young researchers who would like to attend the workshop are welcome to submit a travel fellowship application. Information on submitting the application is provided on the workshop web page.

Important Dates:

- Deadline for Travel Fellowship applications   June 26, 2012

- Workshop dates                                                July 25-27, 2012

Best wishes,

G. Dasgupta, E. Grinspun, K. Hormann, and N. Sukumar
