Virtual Special Issue: 'Outstanding research contributions in the area of nonlinear continuum and computational mechanics'

Submitted by Laure Ballu on

The 2014 Nathan M. Newmark Medal was awarded to Professor Herbert A. Mang at the annual ASCE Structures Conference, which took place in Boston, April 3–5, 2014. Professor Mang was awarded the Newmark Medal for his outstanding research contributions in the area of nonlinear continuum and computational mechanics that clarified the cause of collapse of important concrete structures and quantified the influence of the initial post buckling behavior of metallic structures.

The UMAT problem with no strain and stress

Submitted by atefe.geramian on

Hello,

I have written a UMAT subroutin. When I run, the job completes succssefully. But when I try to see results from the ODB files, I get the following error:

"The selected primary variable is not available in the current frame for any elements in the current display group"

I have tried to select the stress, strain and magnitude and all not available. Could anybody help me?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Best regards,

viscoelastic material using Ansys for Dynamic modeling

Submitted by Veerabhadrayya… on

Hello,

I am planing to model a viscolestic material in ANSYS and condition is dynamic.

i have the data of stress relaxation data from experimental Could anyone please suggest how to give material input in ansys taking the data of stress relaxation

weather for dynamic modeling of viscoelastic material in ansys, we should go for curve fitting or prony series

Thanks for your kind help
