Co-simulation engine error

Submitted by wise2321 on

I am operating a co-simulation analysis in Abaqus. This a kind of interaction between fluid and solid so I am doing co-execution. Unfortunately, when the program run up suddenly I encounter this error " Error in job Co-execution-3-Model-1: Co-Simulation errorError in job Co-execution-3-Model-2: The partner program in the co-simulation has issued a fatal error message.

how to convert total lagrangian tangent stiffness to corotational

Submitted by mjalilych1 on

hello Dear friends

I am working on large displacement of euler beam. I used total lagrangian approach. because of field consistency between degrees of freedom(displacement and theta) tangent stiffness matrix depends on tangant theta and consequently becomes singular for theta=90. so I am seeking for a method to overcome this problem. I believe that the solution is to remove rigid body rotation from analysis. please correct me. is this reasonable. if yes how should I remove rigid bodu rotation

best regards.

A five-year research fellow position at Monash Geomechanics Group, Australia

PhD positions in solid mechanics/biomechanics at Dartmouth College in 2015

Submitted by zichen on

I'm looking for prospective PhD students to study solid mechanics/biomechanics in 2015 at Dartmouth College (Thayer School of Engineering). Visiting or postdoctoral positions are also available for highly qualified candidates from fall 2015. The subjects of research include, but are not limited to, mechanics of morphogenesis in plants/embryos, fast motion of plants (e.g., the Venus flytrap's rapid closure), mechanical self-assembly and instability of thin structures (e.g., DNA, plant tendrils, self-assembly of nanostructures, etc.), and bioinspired structures.
