weld simulation

Submitted by mohamad ebrahimniya on

hi every body

nice to meet all of u

i am a metallurgical engineering. and recently i am trying welding residual stress simulation using abaqus .

i
have some problem .i think i should set a thermal history for the material
witch is welded in simulation. i want to know how can i set a temperature
dependant properties like tensile stress or  yield stress and ...

unknown error message.....

hi,

I just started working on composites. when i applied the load on one side of the panel, ansys is giving me an error, stated

' large pivotal value. you had given temparature dependent material property', but i'm doing just a static analysis.

i searched for this error in the help menu, but couldnt found any help.

any info regarding this will a great help for me.

Compiling and Building TAUCS a library of sparse linear solvers

Submitted by Alejandro Orti… on

I would like to share the following information to all the iMechanica users interested in using TAUCS a library of sparse linear solvers. TAUCS is among the most used libraries of sparse linear solvers and, to my knowledge, its closest equivalent library is SuperLU. For your reference, TAUCS is used in the commercial software Mathematica by Wolfram Research. Its source code can be downloaded from

Dsflux or Dflux

Submitted by ttamsaout on

Hi Every one,

I noticed one thing about specifying surface flux in abaqus/cae.  I specify user-defined surface flux in abaqus/cae, but the inp-file  writes *DsFlux as seen in the following lines,

** LOADS

**

** Name: Load-1   Type: Surface heat flux

*Dsflux

_PickedSurf28, SNU, 10.

When I submit the Job, I see this error

Error in job Essai: USER SUBROUTINE DFLUX IS MISSING

Job Essai: ABAQUS/Standard aborted due to errors.

surface finish

hello every one

i am a student who is doing a project on surface finish of a turbine blade,

presently the surface roughness is 11.8 microns and i am trying to decrease the surface roughness to 0.1 micron

kindly suggest me the methods to acheive the above mentioned objective

thanking you
