I need this paper for reference. But I cannot find the full text. Could anyone, who has a copy of it, send a copy to me? Thanks so much.

export the co-ordinates of the integration points???

Submitted by Gamal on

Hi my friends,

I want to export both the stresses and the co-ordinates (x,y,z) at the

integration points using Abaqus CAE. I know how to get the stresses at the nodes

(unique nodal ) by using Visulaization module then report then unique nodal. But

when i try to report the stresses at the integration points, i did not find the

co-ordinates at the integration points as one of the output. I find only the

unique nodal.

Thanks alot,

Gamal

Rotation of a model

Submitted by proussy on

I created a 3D model in Ansys, and when I wanted to mesh, I realised that the model was created in the wrong plane:  the area I wanted to mesh was in the x-z plane, while the plane82 element I needed to use needs to be in the x-y plane.

Is there a way I can rotate my entire model instead of starting from the beginning?

In addition, how can I create a cylinder with the circle in the x-z plane and its depth in the y direction.  Creating circles and cylinder only gives the option to create the circle in the x-y plane.

Thanks

Displacement and energy norm LS DYNA

Submitted by sawantsachin on

Hi,

I am solving an implicit non-linear problem in LS-DYNA. I was not able to achieve convergence. I changed the default displacement andenergy norm (which are 0.001 and 0.01 respectively) to 0.009 and 0.05respectively, the solution converged. My question is, is it advisable to changethe default norms to achieve convergence?

Systematic Evaluation of Bonding Strength and Fracture Toughnessess of Adhesive Joints

Submitted by Arun Krishnan on

We have carried out systematic experimental tests to evaluate the bonding strength and fracture toughness of adhesive joints. Our work has been published in Journal of Adhesion as one among the collection of papers honoring Prof. David Dillard for receiving the Adhesion Society Award for Excellence in Adhesion Science sponsored by 3M.

Interaction of a model of Composite structures

Submitted by amitpaul on

Madam,

I want to make a simple composite structures of concrete embedded steel in abaqus. (If I am wrong kindly say) I have creted a "dependent" instances in the assemble module after doing the mesh. Then I have made the interaction with the step-1 and made a "surface to surface contect (standard)" having the master (concrete) and slave (steel) with contact (friction) property.

delamination analysis

  1. i am doing M.E in tamil nadu....am doing final year project in composites material...i.e., delamination analysis of composite material in glass fiber with epoxy.....i do the analysis in ANSYS 12...i saw in ANSYS there is APDL program as same as my project...i.e., VM 248.......i need step by step instruction of APDL program.....pls hepl me as soon as possible..........

Extension limit, polarization saturation, and snap-through instability of dielectric elastomers

Submitted by Bo Li on

A dielectric elastomer is capable of largevoltage-induced deformation, particularly when the voltage is applied on theverge of snap-through instability.  Thispaper describes a model to show that the snap-through instability is markedlyaffected by both the extension limit of polymer chains and the polarizationsaturation of dipoles.  The model mayguide the search for high-performance dielectric elastomer transducers.
