Help in ABAQUS

Submitted by drmaity on

Dear all,

In my FE model (pin on disc), I would like to define a contact property between pin and disc with a friction defination available in ABAQUS. I have assumed that friction coefficient depends on parameters like slip rate, pressure and temperature only. When i used friction coefficients with slip rate and pressure, model works without any error but if i use friction coefficients with slip rate, pressure and temperature, the model doesn't work and come up with following errors;

smeared crack concrete output problem

Submitted by rabeeshammas on

Hello Guys.. I am modelling single dry shear key which is in the joint of segmental bridge, I model the concrete by using

smeared concrete model.the model in working and i get the results .Please can anyone help me how to find the crack

pattern ?? Really i stoprd at this point for more than 15 days !! I read the manual and it says that output information for

smeared concrete model is CRACK and CONF but I cant figure out where can I find it ..on the other word how I can

Microscale characterization of granular deformation near a crack tip

Submitted by Sandip Haldar on

Abstract

This paper presents a study of microscale plastic deformation at the crack
tip and the effect of microstructure feature on
the local deformation of aluminum specimen during fracture
test. Three-point bending test of aluminum specimen was conducted
inside a scanning electron microscopy (SEM) imaging system.
The crack tip deformation was measured in situ utilizing SEM imaging
capabilities and the digital image correlation (DIC)
full-field deformation measurement technique. The microstructure feature
at the crack tip was examined to understand its effect on
the local deformation fields. Microscale pattern that was suitable

Abaqus CAE- buckling analysis eigenvalue

Submitted by Gullos on

Dear members,

my question is about how to use the Abaqus CAE eigenvalue for a linear buckling analysis.

I did a linear buckling analysis for a gFRP vertical panel (h:270  thick:20 w:50 cm). I applied a uniform pressure with value 1 on the top of the panel along the Z axis.

Mode 1 gives me an Eigenvalue of 52853 (please see the attachment). I know that in order to obtain the maximum buckling stress I should multiplicate the eigenvalue for the load appied. It means that the value for the buckling stress is 52853 (N/cm2).

Example problems for tire modeling in Abaqus or Pro Engineering

Submitted by pradeep632 on

HI,

I am just a begineer in modeling and FEA analysis of tires. Can anyone please provide me with the tutorial or anything for modleing of tires in Pro Engineering or Abaqus and FEA techniques for tire analysis. I would be very glad to have any kind of help. Looking forward for the help. thank you.

Best Regards,

Dear Colleague,

I have uploaded a video which shows the simulation of Slow-Fast crack propagation in ferroelectric single crystals:

Looking for a postdoc position (Thermoelectric material)

Submitted by wanghc on

I am an engineering doctor of School of Physics in Shandong University, China, graduated in July of 2011. And I have, during the doctor's research period, actively engaged myself in the area of thermoelectric material for 5 years, focusing particularly on the oxide thermoelectric material and module. I keenly desire to obtain a post-doc. Research position in a thermoelectric research group, and further continue the study of thermoelectric. Most of my work has published in peer-viewed journals. So I can do academic writing by myself.
