Viscoelastic material model in Abaqus

Hi,

I am trying to model asphalt concrete as viscoelastic mayterial in abaqus. As I have seen from past studies, people have used prony series parameters for time domain viscoelasticity and additionally also used elastic modulus from resilient modulus test data. As I already have dynamic modulus test data, I can calculate prony series parameter from it but the problem is with resilient modulus. Do I need to run resilient modulus test again to get the elastic parameter in abaqus or is there any other way to work with dynamic modulus test?

Global dimming and Global warming, hazardous effect of green house gases on our planet earth

Global dimming is simply described as the reduction in the amount of solar radiation reaching the earth. This is caused by the following, increased amount of particulate matter and pollutants such as carbon monoxide, sulphur dioxide and soot. Due to the increase in energy demand, fossil fuel combustion has led to the emission of green house gases which causes global dimming. These subatances coalease with water droplet on the cloud, as the pollution increases more bonds are formed and a reflective layer is formed the impedes solar radiation from reaching the surface of the earth.

Biomass is currently one of the latest sources of renewable energy. Biomass consists of plant matter that is specifically grown for its ability to generate heat or electricity. Mostly this would mean that Biomass consists of dead plant matter, but plants that are still alive can also generate heat and are therefore also included in the term Biomass.

Two PhD positions in computational and experimental multiscale mechanics of materials – Eindhoven, Netherlands

Our Mechanics of Materials Group at Eindhoven University of Technology, Netherlands, in association with Materials innovation institute M2i, has two openings for talented PhD students in the field of multiscale mechanics of materials. They are part of a project on multiscale hygro-mechanics of paper. The industrial background of the project is in inkjet-printing. One opening is on experimental characterisation and the other on multiscale computational modelling.

For exceptionally suited young doctors we may consider changing the positions into PostDoc positions.
